"What a beautiful life you lead. Chilled gazpacho with diced mango and cucumber for breakfast, a latte, followed by a run at the gym. If you took one moment to look at us, the dirty beat up run down party kids, you would see poetry. You wouldn’t even have a job if, if, if we didn’t provide the base. We’ve gone to the extremes so that you can watch it all on a TV set in the comfort of your Soho apartment and say things like “I used to do that”. Uh, no… You never “used to do that”. What YOU used to do was go out and get drunk and make out with strangers and go home and wake up with a hangover and talk about how great it was at brunch. While we… we wrote the songs that you were dancing to. We started the parties that you discovered long after we left. You were pre-gaming and wondering who you would get lucky with tonight, while we are making arts and crafts… arts and crafts that would be featured in French Vogue. And you remarked “Didn’t their leather jackets break in so perfectly?” Well, of course they did, because we are the original of the copy of the copy that you’re trying to emulate. So when you’re having breakfast and we walk in looking beat up and out of focus, just smile and offer us a coffee. Black, no sugar."
